Barnes Coomer, Mary Etta, 86 of Louisville, KY passed away on July 27, 2016, peacefully within the comfort of her own home.
Mary was born in Springfield, KY on May 24, 1930 to the late Christine and Obey Cheatham. Mary is also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Coomer; siblings, James Hoody Cheatham, Estrella (Chaddie) Cheatham and Mildred Cheatham; granddaughter, Angela Henderson; and great-grandson, Zachary Henderson.
Mary worked as a caregiver for Parkway Medical for 18 years. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her loved ones.
She is survived by her children, Kristy Henderson (Pete), Jackie Coomer (Kathy), Michelle Coomer, Jana Faust (Benjamin Lewallen) and Lana Coomer; her grandchildren, Aaron Coomer (Brittany), Jordan Broughton, Emily Broughton, Dylan Coomer (Chasity), Mark Henderson (Paola), Lori Henderson, Gina Henderson, Becky Henderson, Natalie Brown (Roger), Billy Duncan, Shawn Duncan and Maribeth Duncan; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home-Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272). A funeral service to honor the life of Mary will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the funeral home, with entombment to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
