Mary Louise Daugherty

Mary Louise Daugherty, age 85 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, she graduated from Sacred Heart High School and attended the University of Louisville, where she was a member of the PiBetaPhi Sorority. Mary Lou was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church where she was a long-time member of the church choir. She was past president of the "TWIGS" group through Norton Kosair Children's Hospital. She was also a member of the Louisville Women's Club, the Womens' Homemaker Group and an avid Bridge player. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Henry "Hank" Daugherty; and her parents, James and Nancy Gormley Moreland; and cousin, Billy Cobb.

Mary Lou is survived by her loving children, Nancy D. Bellamy (Ken), Mary Ellen Knop (Brian), James Daugherty (Mary Carmel) and Margaret Daugherty; grandchildren, Rob Bellamy (Ingrid), Ben Bellamy (Lauren), Rebecca Cruse (Jason), Mason Daugherty, Jack Daugherty, Madelyn Golightly and Kristina Knop; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Quinn, Asher and Willa Bellamy, Chasity, Kendall and Brody Cruse; cousins, Bruce Cobb (Clare), Fred Cobb and Janet Cobb; half-brothers, Bill Alison (Dena) and Martin Jack (Shirley); sister-in-law, June Jones (Sanford); and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30am on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40222, with a Mass of Celebration at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be to the Alzheimer's Association.
