Mary Coulter

November 14, 1946 — November 28, 2024

Mary Elizabeth Coulter, age 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Born on November 14, 1946, in Lebanon, Kentucky, to the late Roman and Martha (Deatele) Burkart, Mary brought joy and light to everyone she encountered. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Coulter. Larry and Mary were high school sweethearts that cherished raising a family together. They were true soulmates and they are now together forever.

She will be deeply missed by her loving daughter, Mary Jo Mahoney (Pat), her cherished grandchildren, Mariah Farris (Toby) and William Mahoney (Taylor), as well as her adoring great-grandchildren, Emerie, Jeremy, Malakai, and Everleigh. Mary also leaves behind her dear sisters Jeanne Buckner (Jim), Judy Burkart, and Lynn Stinson (Denis), alongside several nieces and nephews whose lives she touched profoundly.

A devoted wife, mother, mimi and sister, Mary was a pillar of strength and faith. Her devotion to God was reflected in her deep love for attending Southeast Christian Church, Southwest Christian Church, and Larchmont Church of God. Embracing her faith, Mary often shared her motto: "Fully Rely On God," (FROG) a testament to the uplifting spirit she carried throughout her life.

Mary's legacy is one of kindness and positivity; she had a heartfelt ability to see the good in each individual she met. Her warmth and joyous presence brought light to every room, and those who knew her will forever treasure the moments shared with her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, December 13th, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm, with a burial at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.

In honor of Mary's loving spirit, the family invites friends and loved ones to wear purple, her favorite color, as a celebration of her vibrant life. They also kindly request that contributions in Mary's memory be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
