Mary Shontee Calland Harrington

Mary Shontee Calland Harrington, 78, of Louisville passed away on March 18, 2017. Mary was born in Louisville on October 7, 1938 to the late William and Lucille Shontee. She graduated from Central High School, received her bachelor's degree from Spaulding University and her Masters from the University of Indiana. She was a teacher in Fulton County, Georgia and Jefferson County Public Schools for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2003. Mary became a Jehovah's Witness in 1973 and attended the Kingdom Hall on Muhammad Ali Blvd.

Mary is survived by two children, Tamiko Calland and Jonri Calland (KaKaya) and three grandchildren, Jori Calland, Sanjay Sivils, and Samarii Calland Gore.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272). Her memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (1630 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd, Louisville, KY 40203).
