Mary Frances (Carpenter) Briscoe, 65, of New Albany, Indiana passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. She retired after 43 years in the classroom at Holy Family Catholic School. She was an extremely active member at Holy Family Catholic Church where she was involved in various ministries that included 32 years in the Theater Group.

She was born on December 6, 1949 in New Albany to the late James and Irene (Strahl) Carpenter. Mary is survived by her loving husband of over 43 years, Barrett Briscoe; sons, Brandon Briscoe (Carey), Kevin Briscoe; siblings, Barbara Hamilton (Larry), Mike Carpenter (Denise), Mark Carpenter (Pam), Terri Hoffman (Steve), Chuck Carpenter (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Lillie and Reese; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12 PM to 8 PM on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church (129 W. Daisy Lane, New Albany). A vigil service will take place at 8 PM on Friday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday at the church with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
