Mary Gene (Zahnd) Bott

Mary Gene "Genie" (Zahnd) Bott, 74, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday evening, April 21, 2018. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and aunt. Genie enjoyed being out in nature and was also an avid animal lover.

She was born on September 15, 1943, in New Albany to the late Henry and Margaret (Laughlin) Zahnd. Genie was also preceded in death by her sister, Therese "Terry" Kellems.

Genie is survived by her daughters, Valerie Kincaid (Daniel) and Susan Raymer (Jeffrey); brother, Jon "Jack" Zahnd; grandchildren, Matthew Kincaid, Nicholas Raymer, Katherine "Kt" Kincaid, and Benjamin Raymer; niece, Connie Keith; nephew, Gary Kellems (Robyn); and several great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. Her Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
