Mary Meredith Boston

Mary Meredith Boston, age 91 of Shelbyville, Kentucky passed peacefully August 1, 2025 at Maple Grove Senior Living.

She was born February 26,1934 in Edmonson County, Kentucky to the late Mae and Roosevelt Meredith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Eugene Boston, son Steven Gregory Boston, brother Ova Meredith and sisters Homa Meredith, Wilma Ostendorf, Elaine Denton, Bess Sanders and Ann Hall.

She is survived by daughter Meredith Lynn Shipley, son Douglas Reed Boston, grandsons Richard Schanen (Jen), Jason Schanen (Carrie), William Shipley, granddaughters Rachel Crume (Scott), Shaidany Boston, great grandchildren Alexis Schanen and Aidan Schanen, sister Stella Potts, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary attended Ahrens Trade School in Louisville, After she retired from Sunoco, she spent much of her time enjoying the great outdoors and taking fishing trips with her family. She was a great cook and made sure everyone was well fed.

Mary selflessly donated her body to University of Louisville Bequeathal Program to further health science-related education and research.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 4-8 pm at Newcomers Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
