Mary Margaret Magdaline Bailey Slaughter

Mary Margaret Magdaline Bailey Slaughter passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025. She was born on May 19, 1935 to Frank Bailey and Rena Covington in Logan County, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Roscoe and Mark Slaughter; sisters, Annie Owen, Ruby Browder, and RC Sanders; and brothers, Frank Bailey and Bennie Watts .

She was a member of Howard Chapel Baptist Church in New Albany, Indiana, where she participated in various auxiliaries within the church.

She was employed by Floyd Memorial Hospital for several years in the environmental services department. She retired and became a foster parent to many blessed youth (Regional Youth Services).

"Ms Polly," "Grandma", "Aunt Polly" enjoyed being with family/ friends, sports, and cooking.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Beverly Crawford (Steve); son, Dale Slaughter (Gina); grandchildren, Eric Brown, Dishonne Slaughter, Brian Slaughter, Theron Russell, Stacy Cole, Tammy Laflesh, Daria Hoil, and Sterline Slaughter; 2 Generations great grand children; a host of nieces and nephews; and a very special friend and loving Godmother to her children, Doris Southers.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Howard Chapel Baptist Church in New Albany, Indiana with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in West Haven Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
