She was preceded in death by her father, Louis M. Avis, her mother, Catherine R. Avis, her twin brother, Edward L. Avis, and her significant other, Marji Rotenberger. Those who carry forward her memory include her niece, Christine A. (Matthew) Pell; her brothers, Louis L. Avis and Daniel J. (Donna) Avis; her sister-in-law, Patti Avis; along with many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and family who were touched by her kindness and selflessness.

Memorial gatherings to honor Mary Ann's life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana. On April 15, 2026, a Memorial Gathering will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Family, friends, and all whose lives she enriched are invited to come together to remember and celebrate the enduring spirit of this extraordinary woman.
