Marvin Louis Missi Jr., born on August 20, 1953, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana, surrounded by his beloved family. His life was marked by dedication to both his career and the cherished relationships he nurtured throughout his 72 years.
A proud graduate of Floyd Central High School, Marvin embarked on a professional journey as a mechanical designer at Southern Gravure in Clarksville, Indiana until he retired. He later went to work at Keotter Woodworking as the Director of Process Improvement. His commitment and expertise in this field were well respected by colleagues and clients alike. Yet, it was his family that stood as his proudest accomplishment and the true measure of his life’s work. Marvin’s joy was found in the moments shared with his wife Sheila, to whom he was happily married for 38 years, their children, and grandchildren. He held these bonds as the greatest treasures.
Marvin was a man who embraced the outdoors with a passion, enjoying hunting, fishing, and the freedom of riding four wheelers through the natural landscape. His love for martial arts movies, Jeremiah Johnson movie, woodworking and golfing added a unique touch to his vibrant personality, reflecting a spirit appreciative of both adventure and storytelling.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Sheila Missi; his son Matthew Missi and daughter-in-law Monica; his daughter Aubry Fulkerson and son-in-law Andy; and grandchildren Liam, Everett, Lily, and Ella, each carrying forward his legacy of family devotion. Marvin’s warm nature and steadfast heart also live on in his siblings Linda Butler, Darlene Bickett and her husband Steve, Ronnie Missi and his wife Dana, as well as brother-in-law Bruce Manka. They, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends, hold his memory dear.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Sr. and Betty Missi, and his sister Marilyn Manka. Their memories are honored alongside his, as he reunites with those who went before him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Lane in New Albany, Indiana.
