Marvin Edward Melton

Marvin Edward Melton, age 88, of Henryville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026. Born on February 6, 1938, in Burkesville, Kentucky, Marvin lived a life dedicated to his family, faith, and community.

Marvin retired after 30 years of dedicated service at Pfau Oil. Beyond his professional career, he was a lifelong Deacon at Blue Lick Christian Church, where he generously shared his talents by playing guitar and contributing his vocal gifts to enrich the worship experience. His faith and commitment to his church were cornerstones of his life.

A man of many interests, Marvin found joy in playing horseshoes, tending to his garden, and building items with his skilled hands. He especially cherished the holiday seasons, delighting in bringing his family together and lovingly decorating for Christmas.

Marvin was the son of Fred and Mary (Dyer) Melton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steve Melton, and his brother, William Melton.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Nancy (Broady) Melton; his children, James Melton (Tina), Elizabeth Waters (Tom), Cathy Barksdale, and Ann Berryman; as well as ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters, Rena Wilson (Dallas) and Jeanetta McCool.
