Marvin Lafe Gilland, 79, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on September 1, 2016. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 22, 1936. Marvin was a hardworker and worked in the clothing business for many years.
Along with his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Schmitt) Gilland. He is survived by his two children, Marvin D. "Marty" Gilland, and Michelle R. Hauger; a sister, Pat Craven; brother-in-law, Bill Schmitt; 4 grandchildren, Christopher, Scott, Daniel, Danielle; 4 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Austin, Alyssa, Anthony.
Cremation was chosen and entrusted with Newcomer Funeral Home. There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
