Marvin E. James, 83, of Henryville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and a passion for classic cars.
A devoted husband to Janice James, he cherished family deeply, including his two daughters, Darlene James and Lisa Griffin, his granddaughters, Kayla Wilkes and Michelle Clark; and six great-grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his beloved son, Brian James, whose memory remained close to his heart. Along with his son, he is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Ellen James; two sisters; and one brother.
He spent his career at Munich Welding, where he built a reputation for skill, dedication, and integrity. Outside of work, Marvin found joy in traveling, fishing, and admiring classic cars, appreciating their beauty and craftsmanship. Whether casting a line into the water or hitting the road for a new adventure, he embraced the simple pleasures of life and created lasting memories with loved ones.
Marvin's presence brought warmth and wisdom to those around him, and his kindness and passion for life will forever be remembered. His family and friends take comfort in the countless stories and moments they shared with him, knowing his spirit will live on in their hearts.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Following visitation, Marvin will be laid to rest at Mount Zion Cemetery in Henryville, Indiana.
