Marvin Hedges, 76, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on December 14, 2016. He retired from U.S. Post Office and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Marvin served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Marvin was born on July 25, 1940, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Bernard Cleon Sr., and Mary Hedges. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Ruby Troxell, Billie Hedges, Edward Hedges, Edith Laverne Rutledge, Bernard Cleon Hedges, Jr., Donnie Hedges and Lonnie Hedges.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Hedges; children, Brian Hedges (Christy), Timothy Hedges, Michael Hedges (Bobbie) and Kevin; grandchildren, Kaeli, Jessica, De'Mian, Daniela, Caleb, Ethan, Amber, Jonathan, Jacob and Aaron; siblings, Larry Hedges (Susan), David Hedges (Juanita), Janet Henry, Janice Casey, William Hedges (Maryann), Freddie Hedges, Mary Ethel Woosley; cousin, Edith Amos; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243.) A funeral service to honor the life of Marvin will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington, Kentucky.
