Marvin E. McCoomer, age 63 of Radcliff, Kentucky, formerly of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He was retired from the Jefferson County Department of Corrections and was also an Army Veteran. He was the successful business owner of Castle Home Inspection Company and was an avid UofL Cardinal fan. Marvin would light up the room with his personality and everyone who ever met him loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stallard VanDyke McCoomer and Etta Mae Hunter McCoomer.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Faith C. McCoomer; children, Tiffany Perry (Eric), Daryl Piersawl and Cassandra Piersawl; grandchildren, Aubrion Piersawl, Taylor Johnson, Elle Perry, Derrick "Jermai" Marshall, Darius McKnight and Elena McKnight; siblings, Betty Moore (William), Stallard McCoomer (Geraldine) and Sherman McCoomer; mother-in-law, Virginia Jackson; brother-in-laws, Theodore Parker (Denise) and Bishop Earl W. Jackson (Theodora); and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1368 South 28th Street Louisville, Kentucky, with burial to follow in Middletown Historic Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8pm Tuesday, February 17th at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive.
