Marvin Edward Curry, Sr., 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021.
He was born on July 7, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Alvin Otto and Irene (Nelson) Curry.
Marvin was a kind, loving and devoted father, husband and brother. He worked as a Lab Tech and retired from L&N Railroad. His favorite times included spending time with his family, gardening, golfing, playing his banjo and watching sports. Marvin encouraged others to "Never give up" and he practiced this everyday of his life. His kindness and generous spirit will carry on.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Vonda "Joy" Curry, daughters, Jennifer Curry, Sarah Gay Rudy (Erik), son, Marvin "Beau" Edward Curry, Jr. (Rachel), four grandchildren Jackson Curry, Noah Curry, Vincent Curry, Aberdean Nova Rudy and two sisters Juanita McCauley and Freda Curry. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Gay Shoaf (Joe) and niece, Nicky Carter.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243) with a private burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Marvin 's memory be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
