February 28, 1952 — August 20, 2021

Marvin Dale "Toby" Blackford, 69, passed away on August 20, 2021. He was an avid music lover and had an encyclopedic knowledge of artists and songs. One of Toby's interests was building Koi ponds and he was an enthusiastic Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He enjoyed travelling with his wife, Karen and two of their favorite places to go were Hawaii and Gatlinburg, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Margaret G. Blackford; siblings, John Blackford, Bill Blackford, Russell Blackford, Susie Wabler, Mary Unroe, Bob Blackford and Eugene Blackford.

Toby is survived by his wife, Karen Blackford; children, Timothy (Chesley) Blackford of Floyd Knobs, IN, David (Leslie) Blackford, of Louisville, KY, and Marnita (Michael) Weddington of Shepherdsville, KY; grandchildren, Trevor Weddington, Ethan Darby, Bailey Weddington, James (Gus) Blackford, Camryn Holland and Mason Blackford; sister, Pat Szotak - Lawson; the mother of Toby's children, Sarah Pace and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 11am-2pm with a celebration of Toby's life beginning at 2pm.
