Martin Christopher Severance, 55, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020.
He was born April 18, 1964 in Louisville to Martin W. and Martha Severance. He is preceded in death by his father, Martin Whitaker Severance, Jr.
Martin was a graduate of St. Xavier High School (class of 1982), and of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (class of 1986), graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He spent more than 30 years working in Refrigeration Manufacturing, spending the majority of his time employed at General Electric Appliance Park in Louisville.
Martin had a life long love of the ocean and his final wish was to have his ashes placed in the ocean off the coast of Panama City Beach, Florida.
Martin is survived by his loving wife, Janet (Wallo) Severance, 55, daughter, Kore Elisabeth Severance, 21, son Martin (Gabriel) Severance, 13, sister Karen Hert and mother, Martha Anne (Stuedle) Severance. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Jack Wallo, Sr., sister-in-law, Joni Cox, and brothers-in-law, Dan Hert, Dave Cox, Jack Wallo, Jr., and Joseph Wallo, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Martin's life will take place on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church at 212 Mt. Mercy Drive, Pewee Valley, KY, 40056.
Contributions in Martin's memory can be made to the St. Xavier Annual Fund (Education Fund): Office of Advancement Saint Xavier High School (1609 Poplar Level Road, Louisville, KY, 40217).
