Martha Lou (Dickey) Welsh

Martha Lou (Dickey) Welsh, 52, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, was called home, and is no longer in pain, on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. She had a heart of gold and was a beautiful person on the inside and out. Martha loved her children, family, and friends. She enjoyed laughter, as well as playing bingo. Martha was an active member at Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Jeffersonville.

She was born on June 10, 1964, in Bad Hersfeld, Germany, to the late Eugene, Sr., and Margaret (Baird) Dickey. Martha was also preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Anthony Welsh.

Martha is survived by her children, Tiffany Welsh and Patrick Welsh; siblings, Eugene Dickey, Jr. (Debbie), Dan Dickey (Cindy), Rebecca Spellman (Morris), Paul Dickey (Sandra), Jim Dickey (Beth), Mendy Amy (Scott), Martin Dickey (Kelli), and Jeff Dickey (Stephanie); and many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 8:30 a.m. Her Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

The family would like to give special thanks to Martha's friends, Judy and Joe, for the love and care they provided to Martha over the past several months.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Martha's memory may be made to her family in care of the funeral home for her son Patrick's future care.
