Martha Jo Watts

Martha Jo Watts, born on September 22, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2025. Martha was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose impact on her family and friends will be cherished for generations to come.

Martha was known for her unwavering faith; she loved the Lord deeply and served as a prayer warrior within her family. Her sweet spirit brought comfort and warmth to all who knew her. Her love and devotion to her family was paramount. The joy she found in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unparalleled, and just the thought of spending time with them would bring a radiant smile to her face.

Martha is survived by her son, Daniel (Brenda) Watts, and her daughter, Charlotte (Brian) Dubois. She took immense pride in being the grandmother to Nathaniel (Jenna) Watts, Becky (Donald) Shuck, and Kavon (Ila) Kowsari; and the great-grandmother to Colton, Elizabeth, Anna, Ava, and Theo, who brought her boundless joy.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Downs and Marietta Downs; her husband, Raymond Watts; and her twelve siblings.

Though the loss of Martha brings profound grief to her family, they find solace in the belief that she is now with Jesus, embraced in eternal peace.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
