Martha Faye "Marty" (Vincent) Cecil, 58, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2016. She was an incredibly passionate social worker for the state of Indiana. Along with that passion for others, Marty was a dedicated mother that took pride in her son and all of his accomplishments.
She was born on June 3, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Bobby and Georgia (Shemwell) Vincent. Marty is survived by her son, Christopher "Vince" Cecil; brother, Michael Vincent (Kym); nieces, Leia Vincent, Krystl Bietry (Chris), Jamie Vincent, and Samantha Vincent; extended family, Mary Cecil, Chris Cecil, and James Lustig; and a countless number of individuals that she touched and cared for over the course of her career.
Cremation was chosen following Marty's wishes. A celebration of her life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017, at Pfrimmer's Chapel UMC (505 Pfrimmer's Chapel Road NE, Corydon, Indiana 47122). She will be laid to rest privately at a later date.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions in Marty's memory be made to The Center for Women and Families (927 South 2nd Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40203; www.thecenteronline.org).
