Listen to Obituary

Martha Jane Boggs, born on July 30, 1946, in Anacortes, Washington, peacefully passed away on May 8, 2026. She was a woman of deep compassion, a caregiver at heart, who walked her own path and truly marched to the beat of her own drum. Martha lived fully in the present, loved people wholeheartedly, and cherished both her family and her church family with boundless warmth and devotion.

Martha’s youthful years were marked by vibrant involvement and a strong sense of commitment. A proud graduate of Fern Creek High School in 1965, she was an active member of the Civil Air Patrol and the marching band during her school days. These early experiences shaped a spirited and dedicated character that would define her throughout her life.

Her home was a place where stories blossomed and imaginations flourished. Martha’s love for reading was not just a pastime but a gift she generously shared with her children—from bedtime tales to book fairs, and through inspiring readings from the Bible. This treasured tradition created many beautiful memories and instilled a lifelong love of literature and faith in her children.

Those who knew Martha recall her bubbly personality and deep care for the people around her. Her passions included coloring, a love of trees, enjoying old movies, and daily readings from the Bible. These simple joys reflected her peaceful spirit and grounded nature.

Martha’s proudest accomplishments were centered around her family. She found profound joy and pride in her daughter Athena and all her accomplishments, her son Anthony, and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on in grandsons Mikel Crews, Kyle Crews and his wife Morgan, Cherished Great-Grandsons Avery and Addison Crews, and the extended family including her sister Carol and her husband David King and nephews and niece.

Martha was preceded in death by her father, Chalmers "Earl" Boggs, her mother Mary "Frances" Boggs, and her brother Terry Lee Boggs. Though no longer with us, their memories live on through the love that enveloped Martha’s heart and the family she so deeply treasured.

The community and family will gather to honor Martha Jane Boggs with a visitation on May 23, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., both held at Cedar Springs Church of Christ, located at 11904 Seatonville Rd, Louisville, KY 40291.

As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life marked by compassion, joy, and unwavering devotion. Martha’s spirit, her laughter, and her love remain ever present in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
