Martha Hanke Bahr

Martha Hanke Bahr, age 93, of Louisville, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017. She retired from Brown & Williamson after many years of service. Martha was a life-long member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry; her parents, Edward and Marie Miller Hanke; and her siblings, Earl and Alvin Hanke, Dorothy Mahoney and Juanita Coleman.

Martha is survived by her loving friends who provided her care, Sandy and Scott Maxted; her very special friends, Erin Maxted Powell and her husband Doug, who loved her as her "Nanny"; and many nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 10-11am on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, with a celebration of Martha's life to follow at 11am. Burial will be private.

The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at both Brookdale and Good Samaritan for their loving care of Martha.
