Marlene (Hollis) Flora, 78, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016.
Marlene was born on November 7, 1937, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Edrick and Clara (Priddy) Hollis. She was a fantastic cook and an exceptional gardener. Marlene loved antiquing and finding things to add to her collection.
She is survived by her loving husband of over sixty years, John Flora, Jr.; children, Judy Brewer (David), Carol Ginkins (Terry), Joyce Flora, John Flora III, and Scott Flora (Michelle); sisters, JoAnn Chaffin, Pauline Ward, and Linda Zeller (Mike); grandchildren, Jason (Teresa), Matthew (Brook), Whitney, Cody (Michelle), Carey, Megan, Brad (Michelle), Joshua (Jacque), and Dallas; and 10 great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Marian Rowley; and brothers, Edrick "Peanut" Hollis and James "Buddy" Hollis.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
