Marlene Fisher, a devoted mother grandmother, and cherished member of her community,  was born June 19, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky. She passed away at home, where she  peacefully lived with her daughter, Angela, on February 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family and the countless children she watched over during her years as a beloved crossing guard for Louisville Metro Police.

Marlene retired after years of service, during which she made a profound impact on the lives of numerous children. Her commitment to their safety was unwavering, and her infectious spirit and kindness touched the hearts of many families in the neighborhood. The joy she found in her job was evident, as she approached each day with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to make her community a better place.

She attended Mercy Academy, Marlene was a devoted Catholic. Her faith guided her actions and influenced her life as she dedicated herself to her family and community. She was a former member of Our Lady Help of Christians, where she lent her voice to the choir, and more recently a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Marlene's selflessness and caring nature were the embodiment of a true homemaker, endearing her to all who knew her.

Her greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren. Marlene poured her heart into creating lasting memories with them, often reminiscing about the special moments they shared. She is survived by her loving sons, Michael (April) Donaldson, and Stephen "Leroy" (Theresa) Donaldson, and her daughters Brenda Donaldson  and Angela (Jason Orange) Donaldson. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Tommy, Amber, Robert, Scotty, Mikie, Brenda, Stevie, Devin, Miranda, and Derrek, as well as 15 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride.

Marlene's love for life also extended to her younger years, where she relished fun outings to the Country Music Ranch with her girlfriends and her granddaughter, Miranda. These moments were a testament to her zest for life and her ability to find joy in every situation.

She is preceded in death by her beloved mother Naomi Fisher, her son Thomas O. Donaldson, her daughter Katherine "Bobbi" Donaldson, and her sister Marion Hayes, Marlene's spirit remains alive in the hearts of those she loved and the many lives she touched through her unwavering dedication and compassion.

Marlene Fisher will be remembered not only for her remarkable service as a crossing guard but also for her boundless love for her family and her relentless commitment to nurturing the relationships that mattered most to her. Her gentle spirit will always be cherished by her family and friends.
