Mark Winfield Simpson, age 57, beloved husband, father and son, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at The Heart Hospital Deaconess in Evansville, IN., surrounded by the people he loved the most, his family. Mark was born January 9, 1959 in Louisville, KY., the son of Barbara and the late Rouse Simpson, grew up in Middletown where he graduated from Eastern High School. He attended the University of Louisville and graduated from Kentucky College of Technology. He was employed by ServIT of Kennesaw, GA., as a Senior Hardware Specialist and NOC Engineer. He also served there as a trainer. Mark was an avid fan of UofL Basketball, enjoyed playing the guitar and was a member of the Red Brush Rifle Range. He also was a Ham Radio Operator call sign N9GKW, loved photography, camping and astrology. He was a member of North Park Baptist Church where he enjoyed playing baseball. He loved life and loved his family. Mark was also preceded in death by his brother, Craig.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Claire Louise; his daughter, Hannah; mother, Barbara; several cousins; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 11am-3pm, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY., with a celebration of Mark's life to follow at 3pm. Burial will be in Middletown Historic Cemetery.
