Mark John Shadbolt, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 29, 2025, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, at the age of 70. Born on December 9, 1954, in Wauseon, Ohio, Mark lived a life dedicated to bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
Mark held a special pride in his service in the United States Marines from 1971 to 1973. During his time in the military, he had the unique opportunity to do the full training of the Navy Seals, Army Rangers, and at The Greenbrier's, which fostered a strong sense of camaraderie and discipline that he carried throughout his life.
A man of many passions, Mark found immense joy in fishing and relished every moment spent with his family. His greatest ambition was to make people smile and laugh, a testament to his kind spirit and generous heart. He was especially proud to be a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure to know him.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie Shadbolt; his cherished daughters, Katrina McCuen, Tonya Gordon, and Venus (Bill) Barr; and his beloved grandchildren, Samantha McCuen, Axel McCuen, Derick Fuller, Leslee Dukes, Charles Shadbolt, Aden Galvin, Gabriella Galvin, Blake Galvin, Elizabeth Barr, Jaxson Barr, Miles Barr, Aunalee Bruce, and Jesse Bruce. He is also survived by his sister, Shad (James "Bo") Marsh, his sister, Regina Netherton, and sister-in-law, Donna Shadbolt. Mark was a proud uncle to his niece, Emily (Doug) Edmundson, and nephew, Chance Shadbolt, along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Daisy Shadbolt, as well as his brothers, Phillip Shadbolt and Michael Shadbolt.
His legacy of love, laughter, and the joy he brought to others will continue to resonate in the hearts of his family and friends. Mark John Shadbolt will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories of those who loved him.
