Mark Mitchell Gibson Sr., 88, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Mark always loved spending time with his family, grandkids, and his dog Gracie. He loved being on the water fishing in St. Petersburg Florida. He served our country as a Navyman on the USS Wisconsin during the Korean War. He always worked hard but played harder and he was a jack of all trades. He was a good friend to all who were lucky to know him. Mark and his wife owned a marathon station in Louisville for 18 years. He was an excellent mechanic by trade and loved his work.
He was born on April 12, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Bennett and Rosalia (Wigand) Gibson. He is preceded in death by his father, Bennett Gibson, mother, Rosalia Gibson, children, Lewis Rogers and Mark "Marc" Gibson, Jr., siblings, Bennett Gibson and Rita DeChants, and late wife, Marjorie Gibson.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Doris May Gibson; children, Sharon (Paul) Graca, Teresa Rogers, Darrell "Bo" (Lisa) Rogers, Cheryl (James) Mitchell, Christine (Jerry) Rogers-Tuell, and Marci (David) Benningfeld; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy (Pat) Spoone. He is also survived by a host of family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
