Marjorie "Gayle" (Keach) Owen

Marjorie "Gayle" (Keach) Owen, 80, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Gayle was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and the Koinonia Sunday School Class. She graduated from New Albany High School in 1959, and throughout her life she brought joy to her friends and family through her bright smile, optimistic outlook, sweet Christian faith, and keen sense of humor. Gayle's encouraging presence wrapped around people like a warm blanket of love.

She was born in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Charles and Mary (Loweth) Keach. Along with her parents, Gayle is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Tina Owen; sister, Helen Baker; brother, Bud Keach; brother, Parker Keach; brother-in-law, Gene Baker; brother-in-law, Wayne Swift, Sr.; brother-in-law, Don Sappenfield; and nephew David Sappenfield.

Gayle is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Lynn Owen; children, Neil (Lisa) Owen and Kelly (Michael) Bruns; grandchildren, Carlynn (Anna) McKay, Grace (Noah) Jones, Caroline Bruns, Bekah Owen, Will Owen, Hannah Bruns, and Nelson Owen; great-grandchild, Juliet Jones; sister, Elva Swift; sister-in-law, Polly Keach; sister-in-law, Pat Sappenfield; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church (2100 Highway 150) and will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

The family requests that contributions in Gayle's memory be made to the American Heart Association or to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
