Marion Delois "Dee" (Tucker) McGeorge

Marion Delois "Dee" (Tucker) McGeorge, age 79, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026. Born on July 5, 1946, in Paducah, Kentucky, Dee was the daughter of Virgil and Rachel (McRoy) Tucker.

Dee’s journey in life was marked by her dedication to caring for others. She graduated from Lone Oak High School in Paducah in 1964, and soon after pursued her passion for nursing at St. Anthony School of Nursing in Louisville, completing her studies in 1967. Her career as a Registered Nurse was a testament to her compassion and commitment as she served at St. Anthony Hospital from 1967 until its closing in 1995. Following this, Dee continued contributing her talents at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield until 2010. Upon retiring, she embraced the role of a full-time grandmother, cherishing the moments spent with her family.

Those fortunate to know Dee often remarked on her warm smile and her kind, gentle spirit. She found joy in the simple yet beautiful pleasures of life—taking leisurely drives throughout Southern Indiana and sharing moments by the Ohio River with her late husband, Ron, watching the boats drift along the water. Dee was a woman of many talents; her skills spanned from cake decorating and cooking to sewing, painting, ceramics, floral design, and holiday decorating. Amidst all her gifts, her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren, whose company brought her immeasurable happiness.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ron McGeorge. She is survived by her loving children, Kristi Lauder (David), Kara Hunter, and Nick Hunter (Shellie); her bonus daughter, Deanna Craig; and her treasured grandchildren, Lily Hunter, Emmi Wright, Harper Hunter, and Hudson Hunter. She also leaves behind her sister, Louise Jewell (John), as well as her nephew, TJ Jewell (Laura).

Visitation to honor and remember Dee will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. She will be laid to rest privately at New Chapel UMC Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
