Marion Eugene Hedgespeth II, born on November 27, 1989, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on May 13, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a cherished son, father, brother, partner, and friend whose presence left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege to know him.

Marion was a 2008 graduate of North Harrison High School, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with zest and compassion. Known for his kind and loving nature, he was outgoing and effortlessly made acquaintances with everyone he met. Marion had a unique gift of bringing joy and laughter to those around him, weaving light-hearted moments into the fabric of everyday life.

He was deeply passionate about sports, especially baseball and football, both as a player and a spectator, which brought him immense joy. Lifting weights and fishing were among his cherished hobbies, providing him with relaxation and a connection to the natural world that he greatly appreciated.

Above all else, Marion took great pride in spending time with his family, particularly his beloved children, Wrenly, Kima, and Asher. His greatest accomplishment was the joy and love he shared with them, which was the center of his world.

Marion is lovingly remembered and mourned by his children, Wrenly, Kima, and Asher; his father, Anthony "Tony" Wright; his sisters Shea (Wayne Townsend) Hedgespeth, Hillary Wright, and Lexie Barnes; his brother, Alex Zollman; and his partner, Kisha Wilkey. He also leaves behind his devoted grandmother, Geraldine Elie; aunts Teresa (Jim) Ritter and Macey (Woody) Cornell; uncles Robert (Kenna) Hedgespeth, Hans Wright, III, and Terrance Wright; aunt Nyana Wright; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by his warmth and kindness.

Marion was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Faye Barton, and his grandparents, Hans Wright Jr., Barbara Hedgespeth, and Marion Hedgespeth.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location beginning at 6:00 PM.

In every interaction, Marion displayed a generosity of spirit and a joyful heart that will forever be remembered. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

The family requests that contributions in Marion’s memory be made to Newcomer Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
