Marion Eugene Hedgespeth

August 11, 1938 — February 19, 2020

Marion Eugene "Gene" Hedgespeth, 81, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Gene was a proud Mason and member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge #416 and the Scottish Rite. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt.

He was born on August 11, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Marion and Mable (Gilbert) Hedgespeth. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Louise Hedgespeth; daughter, Barbara "Faye" Barton; brother, Everett Hedgespeth; and granddaughter, Tracy Ritter.

Gene is survived by his loving children, Teresa (Jim) Ritter, Robert (Kenna) Hedgepeth, Macey (Woody) Cornell, Brent (Dawn) Hedgespeth, and Mark Hedgespeth; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow according to Gene's wishes.
