Marilyn A. Vanmetre

Marilyn A. VanMetre, age 65 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019. Marilyn attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and retired from the old Hungry Pelican at Goose Creek Road. She loved to bowl at Lyndon Lane Bowling, loved Bingo and was a dedicated University of Kentucky basketball fan. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Franklin Gadd; and her four-legged child, Booboo.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Philip VanMetre; daughter, Michelle Brewer; mother, Anne Catherine Brewer; siblings, Richard Gadd (Bobette), Kathy White (Dennis), Sandy Ashley and Jan Gadd (Connie); grandson, Alexander Brewer; aunt, Pauline Truman; brother-in-law, John VanMetre; many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

A gathering to celebrate Marilyn's life will be 3 to 6 pm on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243 (in Middletown).

Memorials may be made to Kosair Charities or Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
