Marilyn Jean Sanders, 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.
She was born on November 14, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky to Joseph and Juanita (Korfhage) Wackenthaler.
Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of generosity, especially to her family and friends. Her selfless acts of kindness were abundant. She was a humble and loyal friend, never thinking more highly of herself than others. She was witty and had many good times with family and friends, particularly at her yearly Christmas party. She was independent and highly intelligent, graduating from U of L and earning a prestigious award for passing the CPA exam on the first attempt.
While we have a hole in our hearts, Marilyn has gone on to her eternal home where she will be rewarded for the goodness, the kindness and the love she put into the world.
Death does not win; John 10:11, 27:28 says "I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life and they shall never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand".
Marilyn, you brought joy to our family and you will be dearly missed.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Rick Sanders, her parents Juanita Glover and Joseph Wackenthaler and step-father, Gene Glover, sister, Laura Wackenthaler.
Left to cherish her memory are her step-son, Colt Sanders, sisters, Sharon Sherman (Mike) and Vicki Tudor (Doug), brothers, Steve and Bruce Wackenthaler, and eight nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with a Funeral Ceremony at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Dr.). Burial to follow at Jeffersontown Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
For everyone's safety, the family requests that everyone wears a mask during the visitation and service.
