Marilyn peacefully passed away into eternal life on October 23, 2026 after a very lengthy illness. We are all happy she is now at peace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mollie and Eddie Clark and a brother, Phillip Burns.
She is survived by her husband Bob Niehoff and her son Matthew (Katie Stewart).
Two granddaughters: Lexie Stanley (Kyle Rosenblatt), Lilly Stanley and one great-grandson, Jordan.
Marilyn was always viewed as a sister to all of Bob’s siblings ever since they started dating in the early ‘70s. All seven of them have many special memories of Marilyn as she was immediately considered a part of our family. Marilyn was quite the lively one at the many family gatherings and could be quite entertaining.
Marilyn was known for her excellent cooking and when my Mom passed away, my Dad would call her often to ask how to prepare different types of food. When he called her, he would always call her “Mar-Mar”-a nickname he just conjured up. “Hello Mar-Mar, I need to know how to….” My Mom considered Marilyn like one of her own daughters as they were very close.
Marilyn’s parents, Mollie and Eddie Clark, started her with golf lessons at a very young age. It was then that she quickly realized what her passion was going to be in her life. As her talent grew, she would become one of the top female golfers in the state of Kentucky. She played competitive golf for many years and always finished among the top tier in most tournaments in which she competed. She still holds a record score of 69 she shot in the Jefferson County Tournament at Cherokee Golf Course. Finally, she was inducted into the Waggener High School Hall of Fame in 2024 for her outstanding accomplishments in golf.
She was the ultimate caregiver for her family as she took care of her Mom, Dad and a special Aunt Eliza until the day they passed away.
The highlight of her life came on May 1, 1982 when God blessed us with our son Matthew. He has far exceeded any expectations we could have ever imagined as parents. She was extremely proud of all of his accomplishments and would take any opportunity to show him off as when she took him with her to several of her golf tournaments riding in the cart right beside her.
She will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 7 from 2-5 PM at Wolf Creek Subdivision Clubhouse: 4400 Wolfspring Drive 40241.
