Marilyn Jeaninne Merritt, age 94 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Marilyn was born on April 10, 1931 in Independence, Missouri to the late William Bedford Dysart and Ethel Sollars Dysart.

Marilyn was a wonderfully creative and crafty person who loved making blankets and baskets for those she cared about. She enjoyed square dancing, listening to jazz music, and spending time with her dear friends, many of whom remained close throughout her life. Her warmth, generosity, and creativity will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Robert Merritt.

Marilyn is survived by her two children, Gary Merritt and his wife, Jennifer and her daughter, Joni Pardue and her husband, Rick. Marilyn also leaves behind five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great joy in her life.

A Celebration of Marilyn's Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Adventure Christian Church,3321 Ruckreigel Parkway, Louisville, KY 40299. There will be refreshments & additional fellowship to follow the celebration of life service in the church’s community area.
