Marie Claire Vaught

November 20, 1927 — January 20, 2017

Marie Claire Vaught, 89, of Crestwood, Kentucky passed away on January 20, 2017. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Mom was a seamstress all her life. Some of her most memorable years were those making the Silks for the jockeys at Churchill Downs.

She has a beautiful smile, a deep faith, a wonderful sense of humor, she is a genuinely lovely person, woman, mother, wife, grandmother and friend. But mostly she's our Mom and we love her with all our hearts.

Marie was born on November 20, 1927, in Fall River, Massachusetts to the late Henry Chasse and Clara (Valcourt) Chasse. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Vaught; granddaughter, Paige Winn; siblings, Armand Chasse and Adrienne Chasse.

She is survived by her children, James McDonald (Janice), Maxine Palmer (Ted), Doug McDonald (Linda), Denise Vaught, Deborah Winn and Bridgitte Vaught; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

There will be a private service held for the family.

In loving memory of Marie, memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
