Marie Clair Reina Hamilton

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Reina, age 92, on Monday September 14, 2026. She was predeceased by her beloved Norman, her husband of 50 years. Reina was the daughter of Dalma Lalonde and Gloria Leblond. She had three children: her daughter Helen Hupe (Denis), son the late Peter Pariseau (Patricia) and son, Gordon Hamilton (Tara). Reina was the loving sister to (11 siblings), grandmother (5), step grandmother (2), great grandmother (10) and step great grandmother (1).

As a young woman she earned herself Checker of the Year in 1961 at Steinberg's Ltd. By then she was a single mother raising two young children on her own. She then became a shoe clerk at Judy Jay Shoes in Ottawa to later become manager of one of the branch stores on Rideau Street. Upon her marriage to Norman in 1972, she retired from Judy Jay Shoes but continued working in shoe stores both in Michigan and California.

We would like to thank all the caregivers, doctors, nurses, and attendants at the Countryside Meadows Assisted Living and New Castle Nursing & Rehabilitation for the wonder care given to Reina while she was in residence.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
