Margaret (Burnett) Payne

Margaret (Burnett) Payne, 93, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Margaret was a very devoted wife and mother. She was a hard worker who made delicious desserts and had a passion for quilting. Margaret was a long-time member of Tunnel Hill Christian Church in Edwardsville.

She was born on April 22, 1926, in Barbourville, Kentucky, to the late Mack and Cleo (Bingham) Burnett. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Venis Clifton Payne; daughter, Wanda Paul; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Margaret is survived by her loving children, Wayne Payne, Shirley Lange, Aineta (Steve) Nichols, Ronnie (Toya) Payne, and Donnie (Suzy) Payne; son-in-law, Tony Paul; sister, Carol Mills; brother, Mack Burnett, Jr,; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
