January 31, 1924 — December 15, 2018

Margaret Beatrice McClain was born Margaret B. Barkley to Culley and Edna Barkley on Thursday, January 31, 1924 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Margaret accepted Christ at Quinn Chapel AME, later joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ebenezer moved, so she stayed and the church was Mt. Moriah. Margaret met and joined in holy matrimony Oliver McClain on June 12, 1948, and to this union there are five children. Oliver preceded her in death, also her father, mother, sister, 3 brothers, 1 granddaughter, 2 great grandsons, and 1great great grandson. In 1968, she joined the Dayspring Missionary Baptist Church (formerly Paul C. Cayce) under the pastorate of her late husband, Rev. O. W. McClain.

Margaret was faithful in her service to God and her church. When Dayspring (formerly Paul C. Cayce) was first organized, she was the first secretary, the first treasurer, the first Sunday school superintendent, and a faithful usher until her health began to fail.

Margaret got her Heavenly wings on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1:30 AM at her home where she lived with Pansy for 14 years.
