Margaret Louise Brooks

Margaret Louise "Margie" (Briley) Brooks, 91, beloved mother of Janice K. Lawrence, Marsha C. Hubbuch, Beth B. Crofford, and C. Robert Brooks, died peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2016. She was the treasured grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 18, and friend to countless others.

Margie grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, where she played cello in the Louisville Youth Orchestra and graduated from Shawnee High School. She married Robert B. Brooks after World War II and raised her children in New Albany. She was a faithful member of the Centenary Methodist Church in New Albany. Margie loved cooking for friends and family, all celebrations, dancing, and playing bridge.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, August 20, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the service at 1:00 p.m., followed by interment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
