Margaret John

February 15, 1949 — December 22, 2016

Margaret Elesia John, age 67, entered into a peaceful rest on Thursday, December 22, 2016. She was born on February 15, 1949 in Georgetown, Guyana. She was the eldest of six children to the late Joyce Campayne, who migrated to London, England when Margaret was a young child. Margaret attended and graduated from St. Roses High School, before migrating to the United States.

She was a loving and devoted sister, friend and aunt. But mostly, a mother to her children and grandchildren. Her generosity and kind heart was an inspiration to everyone she knew.

Margaret is survived by her four children, Frank, Adrian, Decia and Ian, along with their spouses, Josette, Pauline, Patrick and Lacrecia; her ten grandchildren, Asia, Alana, Kareem, Brandan, Jonathan, Deontay, London, Kian, Sienna, Jacob; and four siblings, Sandra, Jenny, Paul and Oliver; nieces, Roselle, Erica and Sophia; and nephews, James and Jordan; great-nephew and niece, Kwame and Remington; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 1-3pm Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, with a celebration of Margaret's life at 3pm.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Foundation.
