Madonna Louise "Donna" Schmitz, 76, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on June 26, 2016. Donna graduated from Mercy Academy. She retired as a beautician and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Donna was a member of the Louisville Ski Club, the Knights of Columbus Columbia Ladies, and HCBOA.
Madonna was born on February 3, 1940, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Louis and Elizabeth (Schmitt) Schwartz. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Schwartz.
Madonna is survived by her children, Denise Crane (Rico Flores), Alan Schmitz (Carol), and Diane Crowell (David); 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Schwartz (Patti) and Larry Schwartz (Gloria); her dog, Stormy; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, July 1, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243). Her Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 12:00 pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church (3521 Goldsmith Lane, Louisville, KY 40220) with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East (11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville, KY 40241).
Memorial contributions may be made to The Arrow Fund, The Knights of Columbus Columbia Ladies, or the Mass of the Air.
