Mable Irene (Romans) Ferguson, 78, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016. She retired from the Charlestown Army Ammunition Plant. Mable enjoyed playing bingo, was an excellent cook, and also admired her flowers. Mable loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was born on May 7, 1938 in Vevay, Indiana to the late Isaac and Daisy (Ellis) Romans. Mable was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ferguson; daughter, Elizabeth Ferguson; sister, Olive Jones; and granddaughter, Julie Ferguson.
Mable is survived by her children, Gayla Morris, Alan Ferguson (Linda), Rita Hobble (Mike), Randy Ferguson (Nancy); step-daughter, Melissa Overstreet Cook (John); brothers, Junior, Norman, and Dale Romans; grandchildren, Mack, Steven, Jennifer, Chris, Randal, Brandon, Amber, Eric Ferguson, Dustin Austin, Todd Jimmerson, Tacy Brown, Amy Rickman; 23 great-grandchildren; and companion, Bob Noble.
Visitation will be from 3 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9 AM. Her Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery.
