Lura May (Barnes) Lalor, 72, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on August 11, 2016. She was a proud mother who devoted her life to raising and caring for her family.
She was born on January 6, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Elbert Barnes and Pinky (Bowles) Barnes Catlett. Along with her parents, Lura was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Ed, Paul, Frank, and Elbert "Barney" Barnes; and sister, Gladys White.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, David Lalor; sons, Ricky, Albert, Tony, and Bobby Whitaker, and Craig Lalor; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, James Catlett; and sisters, Annie Catlett and Pinky Morley.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her Funeral Service following at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Lura's wishes.
Contributions in Lura's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105).
