Lula Annette (Jung) Becht, 57, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. She loved serving others in her community, worked at Christian Academy of Indiana, and attended Northside Christian Church. Lula embodied an adventurous spirit and was loved by all of those around her.
She was born on March 4, 1960, in New Albany to the late William and Gertrude (Maulden) Jung. Lula is survived by her husband of over 37 years, Timothy Becht; daughters, Lindsey Mannix (Tristan), Kristen Becht (Alex Rickel), and Emily Miller (Fred); siblings, Roy Jung, Lana Detrick (Tim), Debra McGovern (Jim), Sonya Pfeifer (Mike), and Laura Schumacher (Robin); and many nieces and nephews.
A reception of family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. Her Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017, in the chapel at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Lula's wishes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Lula's memory may be made to Northside Christian Church Missions (4407 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150) or Christian Academy of Indiana Missions (1000 Academy Drive, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
