It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Luke Clinton Adkins, who left us too soon on October 19th, 2026, at the age of only 27, following a brave battle with leukemia.
Born on May 20th, 1999, Luke packed an extraordinary amount of life, love, and laughter into his 27 years. He was a high school graduate of Eastern High School in Louisville, KY. He was a college graduate of Western Kentucky University. Above all else, he was known for being exceptionally caring and kind. He had a gentle heart, an innate ability to make anyone feel valued, and he always put the needs of others before his own. Whether he was watching his favorite TV show or just hanging out with those he loved, his warmth and positive energy were unmatched.
Luke lived life intentionally, often sharing words of wisdom and his sarcastic humor that stayed with the people around him. He would often refer to scenes from his favorite show Family Guy to prove his point. Which meant him getting out his phone and pulling up a clip of an episode of Family Guy to make us all watch! He had a deep love for music, with a wide range of interests. He recently said, "Enjoy the beauty in the moment and don't try to focus on the things that have already long passed. Only do what you can and let go of everything you cannot. Love is everything."
Even as he faced the trials of leukemia, Luke's spirit remained unbroken. He fought hard with determination and his strength deeply inspired everyone who crossed his path. He truly was a remarkable inspiration.
He leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and beautiful memories.
He will be forever missed by his mother, Renay Armbruster (Alan); his only sibling, Mark Adkins (Britney) and his loving family. He was proceeded in death by his Father, John Mark Adkins Sr. and his grandfather James A. Melton.
He leaves behind his grandmother, Marsha Melton, his aunt, Maggie Stearman (George), his aunt, Lucy Howland (Morgan), his aunt Annie Harvey (Jennifer) and Brittany Enlow, who was like a second mom to him. Nephews, Hudson James Adkins, Harvey LUKE Adkins, his niece, Halsey Ann Adkins, and his cousins, Acie and Rhett Stearman and Maisie and Everly Howland. He lived his last few years wanting to spend time Hudson, Halsey and Harvey. He also has so many other loving family members who loved him so much and saw him strongly battle through his leukemia.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Luke Adkins on Sunday, October 25th anytime from 12 pm to 6 pm for visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home in, Louisville (Middletown), KY. Attendees are encouraged to wear green to celebrate his vibrant life. His funeral service will be Monday, October 26th at 10:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, Louisville (Middletown), KY.
