Loyal "Crow" Stoner, 66, of Simpsonville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018.
He was born on July 1, 1952 in Shelbyville, Kentucky to the late Edward and Mahalia Pauline (Tillie) Stoner. He is also preceded in death by brothers Phillip Lee Stoner and Lawrence Stoner.
At a young age Loyal professed his faith in Christ at New Greater First Baptist Church. He was a 1971 graduate of Shelby County High School where he played basketball through his high school years and joined the U.S. Army where he served for 13 years. Loyal later worked in Louisville for 10 years and recently worked at Martinrea in Shelbyville for 1 1/2 years before falling ill. Loyal recently celebrated 13 years of sobriety. He was an intricate participant at The Ice House within the sobriety community in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was also an avid U of L fan, loved to dance to old school music and liked to eat.
Loyal was married in Mississippi on September 29, 1978 to Rovella Marks with this marriage they had three daughters.
Loyal is survived by his children; Shawn Jones (Anne), Konisha Thomas, Kolisha Thomas, Dee Thomas, Pamela Bell, Angie Carter (Rickie), Cindy Magee, siblings; Edward F. Stoner, Anna F. May (William), Morris Stoner, Jr. (Brenda), Charles A. Stoner (Lucille), Robert A Stoner, Brenda K. Stoner, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions 235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243 with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Shelbyville, KY.
