Loyal Kenneth Reynolds, born on July 19, 1946, in Jellico, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Kenneth’s life was marked by a warmth and generosity of spirit that touched many, reflecting the true essence of a loyal and devoted friend. He was a man whose positivity and laughter could brighten any room, and whose storytelling captivated all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Kenneth was a proud Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, where he served with honor and distinction during the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication were recognized with the awarding of the Purple Heart, as well as the Sharp Shooter medal, testaments to his courage and skill in the line of duty. His military service was a cornerstone of his life, exemplifying his commitment to his country and fellow citizens.
A true craftsman at heart, Kenneth was deeply passionate about building small steam engines and regularly participated in steam engine shows, where his enthusiasm and expertise were well known. Alongside this, he found joy in whittling wood, transforming simple materials into beautiful creations with patient hands and a creative spirit.
Among his proudest accomplishments were his roles as a Shriner and a Mason, associations that reflected his dedication to community service, brotherhood, and the values he held dear. These organizations were more than hobbies to Kenneth; they were integral parts of his identity and life’s mission.
Kenneth’s personality was marked by an open heart and a vibrant joy for life. Never one to shy away from new connections, he never met a stranger. His genuine friendliness, combined with his gift for storytelling, left an indelible impression on many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyal and Loretta Reynolds.
Kenneth leaves behind his friend and caretaker, Laura Collins, and friend, Mike Wilson.
Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 9am-11pm.
Kenneth will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery, 505 Stringtown Road, Williamsburg, KY, on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 3:30pm.
Though he has departed, the memories of Kenneth’s laughter, friendship, and unwavering loyalty will endure in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy is one of courage, kindness, and a joyful embrace of life’s simple pleasures. Kenneth Reynolds will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
