Louise Skaggs

Louise Skaggs, 83, of Louisville, passed away on June 6, 2016. Louise was born in Sonora, KY on August 22, 1932 to the late Melvin and Lula (Davis) Hornback. She worked for Brown and Williamson for many years and was a past Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a foster-parent to at least 70 children.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Bill Skaggs. She is remembered by her children, Kathy Barton, Lissa Skaggs, Latasha Mendez (Everett) and Jack Barton (Carol); eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kentucky Humane Society or Home of the Innocents.
